Multiplex chain PVR has been overshadowed by showing more advertisements than time. Acting on the complaint of a spectator, PVR has been fined one lakh rupees. December 2023 is the case
According to media reports, the case started on December 26, 2023, when the complainant advocate Abhishek MR booked the PVR ticket at the Orian Mall, Bengaluru to watch the Sam Bahadur film. He booked three tickets at Rs 825.66 per ticket. The film’s show was to start at 4.05 minutes after noon and walk till 6.30 pm. The complainant said that he had reached the hall at 4 pm, but the film did not start on time. Here he was shown advertisements from 4.05 am to 4.28 minutes.
30 minutes of delayed work affected- complainant
The complainant said that he was delayed by 30 minutes due to showing more advertisements than the scheduled time and had to resade all his work. Regarding this, he had complained to the Bengaluru Urban District Consumer Dispenser Redressal Commission. The commission gave a verdict in favor of the complainant and also admitted that many viewers had to go through this experience. The commission has imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on PVR in its judgment and ordered to give him Rs 20,000 for mental trouble and inconvenience to the complainant and Rs 8,00 for legal expenses. & Nbsp;

PVR denied the allegations and said that they have to show public service announcements legally. However, the commission said that only one of the 17 advertisements run was only one public service announcement. The commission has also asked to follow the rules in multiplex peace.
